Friday Flow From Frosted

People say so much. People talk so much. People make so much noise. They say, "opposites attract." I know this is true for someone, somewhere, but I don't think people like us fall for our opposite. We fall in love with people like ourselves because we love ourselves. We don't always know it or show it, but when we fall in love, it is usually with someone whose demons we long for. We inhale the words they breathe because they don't talk too much. We continue to value their soul long after they've done something to hurt us, we do this because of what we know about ourselves.

I think people like you and I fall in love with people like ourselves. People who appreciate beautiful words and enjoy glancing at strangers. It's not easy to wake up in the morning and go to work because we want to lay in bed and count irrelevant things that make us feel so relevant. We breath differently. We strive off of beauty and that's why it's so hard to settle. We need someone who thinks, feels and wonders as remarkably as we do. We can endure people who are different than us, but only in small increments. We fall into people who fall like we do. They relate, understand and appreciate like we do. I think that's important.

People say "opposites attract" too much. They rationalize it with magnets. They're pulled from different places to come together and fall in love. We don't need such strong forces. We are on the same side of the field, on the same wavelength, with the same consistency. If I'm up or down, you're up or down. You don't need pulling when you're already in the same place.
